Books I'm reading this summer.
Hey team,
Sharing a few books I’m reading this summer to keep my mind happy, learning and peaceful. Enjoy and tell me which ones are your favorites.
Audible:
Kevin Hart- I can’t Make This Up
WARNING- vulgar and crude language and illustrations. WILL make you laugh. Kevin' Hart’s memoir.
Holy s#* this book is HILL-ARIOUS! Like laugh out loud, ‘did he really just say that?’ kind of laughs. Kevin narrates the book, so you do not want to miss out on the whole experience. As someone who has generally been luke-warm on his standup, the story of his life is not only eye-opening, but its humbling. He faced so much adversity growing up and yet worked his ass off to get where he is today-side note he never dreamed of being a comic! New career paths are always waiting for you if you lean in.
Looking to start a business or sell a product in any capacity? Story brand is a great short read or listen. They also have a podcast which I love. A lot of case-studies from businesses around that world that have a very clear message. Without a clear message of how you can help your customer, you’re sure to have a lot more work ahead of you! Their website even has worksheets for you.
Hardcover
Enneagram coaching has been all the rage the last few years. I’m sure you’ve taken at least one test that will categorize you as 1 or maybe even 3 different numbers. I highly suggest reading this with a very good friend or a spouse. That way, you can ask each other -do you see this in me? And vice versa. Not only does this book help you to discover your unhealthy habits, but it also shows you how you can thrive in relationships, and at work, as well as pick up healthy traits from other numbers! It’s been so liberating to catch myself in a regular behavior and ask ‘could I be vulnerable here?’ or ‘I need some help here, it’s ok to ask’.
